Attorney Profile

Daniel J. Behles is an attorney who has primarily limited his practice to bankruptcy law for the past twenty-five years. He has handled cases for debtors and creditors, committees and Trustees, under all chapters of the Bankruptcy Code. Mr. Behles presently served as a Chapter 7 Trustee in the Atex Bankruptcy liquidation, and spent over 10 years on the Chapter 7 Trustee panel in New Mexico. He is experienced in all phases of bankruptcy litigation and procedure.

Besides being a frequent speaker on bankruptcy topics at continuing legal education seminars, Mr. Behles has been recognized as a specialist in both Consumer Bankruptcy Law and Business Bankruptcy Law by the New Mexico Legal Specialization Board. He is also certified by the nationally recognized American Board of Certification in both Business and Consumer Bankruptcy Law. He is one of only two lawyers in the State of New Mexico who holds dual certification in Bankruptcy law from both the State and the national certifying bodies.

Mr. Behles resides and offices in Albuquerque, but handles cases throughout New Mexico, in all locations where the Bankruptcy Court sits. He is a member of the State Bar of New Mexico, and also is licensed to practice in Colorado. He is a member of the Bankruptcy Law Section (former Chairman of the Board of Directors) of the State Bar New Mexico, and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He sits on the Board of Bar Commissioners for the State Bar of New Mexico, the Board of the Senior Lawyers Division of the State Bar, and has been appointed to the New Mexico Legal Specialization Board.  More information about Bankruptcy Lawyer Daniel J.
